
I still can't work out what caused premature budding of one of the
begonia tubers in store.

Although turning up the propagator heat to about 20 deg C (68 deg F) has produced this new bud on the blank tuber, there is little further development on the older buds, already present on the other tuber(right). So they must have been growing for months in store to have developed so much at such low temperatures. Begonias only grow slowly. It has me beaten.
