Sprayed young rose shoots with Dithane to prevent blackspot splashing up from soil surface and infecting them. Sprayed soil around roses, as well, to kill any blackspot fungus here. With cutting them so far back, it is all too easy for heavy rain to splash infected soil particles onto shoots.
Dithane is very good for blackspot (the best fungicide I have found), and very economical too. Will miss it next year when it is taken off the shelves.

What is the difference between fungicide, pesticide and insecticide? What negative effects do they have and do you have any tips for avoiding them?
